First Team continues softball dominance
Adding the second championship trophy earned in the past two months, the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, won the 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, softball tournament held Saturday and Sunday at the Rodney Evans Softball Complex.

Duke Bde honors lives of three Soldiers
Soldiers of the 1st battalion, 26th regiment, 1st BCT, 1ID, kneel next to the empty boots, helmet, identification tags and weapon of their fallen comrad, Staff Sgt. Kristopher Rogers, on August 22 in the Konar province. Rogers died in an Improvised Explosive Device attack on August 16 while on patrol.

Welcome home displaced Baghdad Families
Iraq Sheik Talib Kwali and Capt. Michael Garling were amongst key community leaders and government representatives to attend the Jihad Resettlement ceremony Saturday in the Hayy Jihad area of Rashid district in southern Baghdad to celebrate the return of 250 Iraqi families into the Shishaan area of Hayy Jihad.

Combat tested, Iraq approved
CAMP Taji, Iraq n CH-47F Chinook Improved Cargo helicopters sit on the flight line on Aug. 20 at Camp Taji, while Fort Hood Soldiers wait for their logistical operations that are typically performed during night hours by the CAB, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B, becoming the first aviation unit in the Army to bring the upgraded cargo helicopter into combat and have since reported great success as they continue to provide logistical support to ground forces operating all over Iraq.
