9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
This year will mark the seventh anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11.
Join Mayor Martin Chávez, the City Council, and fellow community leaders, as we commemorate September 11th with a special Remembrance Ceremony on Harry E. Kinney Civic Plaza
on Thursday, September 11, 2008, beginning at noon.
The Blue Star Mothers
will be on hand, gathering essential items to send to our troops oversees. Please consider donating during the ceremony.

The New Mexico State Fair is going on right now at the fairgrounds in the heart of Albuquerque! Don't miss the biggest show in New Mexico!
When: Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 21
Price: $9 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under, $5 for seniors ages 62 and older. Two-for-one admission every Tuesday.
Where: Expo New Mexico, which is bordered by Central Avenue on the south, Louisiana Boulevard on the east, Lomas Boulevard on the north and San Pedro Drive on the west. (map

Getting there: Parking is free, and weekend Park & Ride tickets are $2.00 for passengers over the age of 12, one way, and free for children 12 and under. Park & Ride tickets do not include Fair admission.

Are you Ready for the Maize Maze?
Fall is right around the corner! Kids are back in school, the days are getting cooler and shorter, and the annual Maze in the Maize is open.
This year's theme is "Made in the Shade," in celebration of the native Rio Grande Cottonwood and the cool shade it provides. The Maze will be in the form of a giant cottonwood tree.
When: Weekends, now through Sunday, November 2nd, 2008
Hours: Friday evenings, 6 - 9 p.m.;
Saturdays 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sundays and holidays 12:00 noon - 6 p.m.
Price: $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 4-12
